Pastor Devin Leftwich is Senior Pastor of Vessels of His Love Church in Wheaton, Illinois.
At the age of 29, Pastor Devin left his corporate job in order to pursue his calling in ministry. After four years of serving as Director of Music for Vessels of His Love Church, he began full-time work as Business Manager in 2001, and Assistant Pastor shortly thereafter. He was ordained as Associate Pastor in 2007, and became Senior Pastor of the church in January, 2009.
The core purpose of his ministry at Vessels of His Love Church is Luke 4:18-19, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captive, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”
His personal mission is to “change the culture for Christ,” by breaking traditions and habits within the church that are contrary to spiritual growth, while re-establishing or enhancing traditions that create a greater atmosphere for worship in the Spirit. “If the culture can change inside the church, we will be in better position to change the culture outside of the church.” His main goal is to bring pastors and leaders of many denominations together and focus on the actions and doctrines that unite us all. Then the church can have a unified voice and affect positive change in the world.
Pastor Devin earned his bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College in 1994 and an MBA from National Louis University in 2002. He and his wife, Lisa, are the proud parents of three children: John, Naomi and Zachary.
